In general there are three main granulation types: Wet granulation, dry granulation and melting granulation. Fluid Bed Granulator belongs to wet granulation, because during the granulating process, the liquid binder will be used, and after drying the granules should be dried.
Fluid bed granulator is very important among the different granulating equipment is because: The granule size distribution is crucial because it affects the product's final quality, performance and manufacturability by controlling density, flow and dust levels.
The granules that made by fluid bed granulator
Sometimes fluid bed granulator is also called Fluidized Bed Granulator, fluidizing granulator, one-step granulator or top spray granulator. It is widely used in pharmaceutical industry, food industry, chemical industry, feed industry, animal drug industry and so on.
Compared with other granulation methods, fluid bed granulation has the following advantages:
1. Reduces toxic dust.
2. Improves flow and compaction.
3. Reduces drying time.
4. Requires one piece of equipment for both granulation and drying, saving lab space and resulting in lower investment and maintenance costs.
5. Avoids overmixing.
6. Produces uniform results and consistent hardness.
