1. General description of Horizontal Fluid Bed Dryer Horizontal Fluid Bed Dryer is mainly used for drying powder and granule materials. It is a continuous type fluid bed drying machine. The Fluidized Bed Dryer consists of air filter, heater, fluidized bed, rotating segment feeder, cyclone separator, bag dust remover, high pressure centrifugal fan and stage for operation. According to different characters of different materials to be dried, the dryer can be equipped with both cyclone separator and bag dust remover or with either of them. Generally speaking, for those pellet materials with a large specific gravity, only a cyclone separator is needed. And for those granule or powder materials with a small specific gravity, a bag dust remover is needed and so is a pneumatic conveying device if possible. The dryer can also be equipped with a rotating segment feeder if required.
Horizontal fluid bed dryer has been widely applied in the fields of pharmaceutical, chemicals, powder, and granular materials such as bulk pharmaceuticals, granular patent medicines, preparations, feed, plastic resin, etc. The granular diameter shall be within the range from 0.1 to 6mm and the best is 0.5 to 3mm.
♦ Inorganic matter: Sodium perchlorate, persulphates, sodium perborate, basic nickel carbonate, etc.
♦ Organic matter: Aminoguanidine bicarbonate, Hydantoin, 1-chloroanthraquinone, tartaric acid, sodium tartaric acid, potassium tartrate, o-Chlorobenzoic acid, etc.
♦ Medicine: sulfadiazine, sulfathiazole, clarithromycin, L-tryptophan, tetracycline, sulfadoxine, etc.
♦ Food and feed additives: Desiccated coconut, oxathiazinone dioxide, feeding chlortetracycline, potassium sorbate, betaine, etc.
♦ Dye: Red base, Cationic Golden Yellow X-GL, Cationic Red X-GRL, Cationic Blue X-GRRL, etc.
♦ Pesticides: chlorpyrifos, glyphosate, phosethyl-Al, tebuconazole, acephate, etc.
♦ Chemical Agents: PVC, PVB, CPE, ferrocene, casein,etc.
2. Work principle of Horizontal fluid bed dryer The clean and hot air enters into fluidization bed through distributor of valve plate. The wet material fed from feeder will be
formed a fluidization state by hot air (jumping within the bed like boiling water), so it is called fluidizing dryer(or machine).Because of the large contacting area between hot air and materials, the drying time is short. The air enters from one end of bed, through" boiling" several minutes and then comes out automatically from the other end.
